Company History
- Commenced production at a 30-million gallon per year biodiesel facility adjacent to the Guymon, Oklahoma pork processing plant.
- Completed expansion of alcohol distillery operations at Tabacal.
- Repurchased 4.74% equity interest in Seaboard Foods, LP from the former owners of Daily's.
- Acquired a non-controlling equity interest in a flour mill business in Colombia.
- Acquired a non-controlling equity interest in a grain trading business in Peru.
- H. Harry Bresky retired as President and CEO; succeeded by his son, Steven J. Bresky.
- Triumph Foods commenced operations at its St. Joseph, Missouri pork processing plant in the first quarter of 2006 and Seaboard Foods began marketing Triumph’s pork products.
- Purchased Daily's, a bacon processor located in the western United States, with plants in Salt Lake City, Utah and Missoula, Montana. Daily's former owners acquired a 4.74% equity interest in Seaboard Foods, LP as part of this transaction.
- Acquired a controlling interest in a grain milling operation in Mozambique.
- Sold equity investment in Fjord Seafood ASA.
- Sold shrimp farming and processing assets in Honduras.
- Acquired an additional equity interest in Fjord Seafood, becoming the largest shareholder in Fjord.
- Exchanged ownership interest in a joint venture in Maine engaged in the production and processing of salmon and other seafood products for shares of common stock of Fjord Seafood ASA.
- Completed construction of additional feed mill in Okeene, Oklahoma.
- Sold the Poultry Division to ConAgra.
- Completed construction of a pork division feed mill in Leoti, Kansas.
- Commenced operations of a 71.2 megawatt barge-mounted power plant located in the Dominican Republic.
- Acquired a cargo terminal business at the Port of Houston.
- Acquired an interest in a flour, maize and feed mill operation in Kenya.
- Acquired the assets of a flour and feed milling operation in the Republic of Congo.
- Contributed cash and the controlling interest in a Bulgarian wine company in exchange for a non-controlling interest in a larger, Bulgarian wine operation.
- Designed and built a flour mill in Luanda, Angola.
- Acquired an interest in a flour mill in Haiti.
- Acquired an interest in a maize, feed and flour mill in Lesotho.
- Purchased a controlling interest in a winery in Bulgaria.
- Purchased a flour and maize milling business in Zambia.
- Sold the Holsum Bakers and Seaboard Bakeries business and Harinas Flour Mill, both located in Puerto Rico.
- Began second shift at the Guymon, Oklahoma pork processing plant.
- Commenced operations at the hog processing facility in Guymon, Oklahoma.
- Acquired an interest in Tabacal Agroindustria, an Argentine company engaged in sugar cane production and refining and citrus production.
- Acquired an interest in a flour mill, pasta plant and cookie operations in Beira, Mozambique.
- Constructed additional feed mill in Hugoton, Kansas to support the integrated hog operations.
- Purchased a poultry further processing facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
- Constructed a feed mill in Optima, Oklahoma to support hog production activities.
- Formalized plans to grow two million hogs in Southwestern U.S.
- Began construction of a greenfield pork processing facility in the Oklahoma Panhandle.
- Acquired flour mills in Guanica, Puerto Rico and in Matadi, Zaire from Continental Grain.
- Constructed first feeder pig facility and feed mill in Northeast Colorado.
- First full year of operations for Seaboard's joint venture to raise Atlantic Salmon off the coast of Maine.
- Constructed a state-of-the-art poultry complex in Mayfield, Kentucky on a greenfield site.
- Acquired a pork processing plant in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
- Formed Transcontinental Capital Corporation (Bermuda) Ltd. and installed a floating power barge in the Dominican Republic to supply electricity within the country.
- Constructed a feed mill in Chattanooga, Tennessee to support poultry operations.
- Designed and constructed a poultry tray pack facility in Athens, Georgia poultry complex for Seaboard Farms.
- Purchased several Central American farming operations and a Miami-based produce distribution company through Mount Dora Farms, Inc.
- Constructed shrimp farming operations in Honduras.
- Commenced shrimp farming operations in Ecuador with Continental Grain.
- Established Mount Dora Farms, Inc.(the “Produce Division”), a producer of fruits and vegetables in Latin America, to take advantage of Seaboard Marine transportation services to and from Miami to the Americas.
- Purchased the Elberton Poultry Company, a further processing operation in Elberton, Georgia, to provide further processing capabilities for the Poultry Division.
- Constructed a new polypropylene bag plant, in Sapele, Nigeria, Delta Packaging Company, Ltd.
- Acquired Central Soya's Poultry Division, consisting of broiler complexes in Athens and Canton, Georgia and Chattanooga, Tennessee with integrated operations in the Southeastern United States.
- Acquired Holsum Bakers of Puerto Rico and Seaboard Bakeries, also of Puerto Rico.
- Formed Seaboard Marine, Ltd to provide scheduled containerized shipping services between the U.S. and various international ports.
- Sold all domestic flour mills to Cargill, Inc.
- Name changed to Seaboard Corporation.
- Designed and built a new corporate headquarters in Merriam, Kansas.
- Acquired Mochasa, Ecuador's leading manufacturer of animal feed.
- Expanded capacity of the Liberian flour mill by 50 percent.
- Expanded capacity of the Nigerian flour mill by 100 percent.
- Commenced operations at Top Feeds, Ltd., a feed plant in Sapele, Nigeria.
- Constructed a flour mill in Albany, New York, the fifth domestic flour mill built by Seaboard in 14 years.
- Constructed a flour mill in Port Allen, Louisiana.
- Founder Otto Bresky retired as Chairman and member of the Board of Directors; succeeded by his son, H. Harry Bresky.
- Acquired a flour mill in Cleveland, Tennessee.
- Constructed a new flour mill in Buchanan, Liberia.
- Constructed a new flour mill in Sapele, Nigeria.

- Purchased George Urban Milling Company in Buffalo, New York.

- Became a public company through a merger with Hathaway Industries, Inc., a publicly traded company, and changed name to Seaboard Allied Milling Corporation. The company was listed under the symbol "SEB."
