Cathy McDermott, inside sales manager, was named the 2025 recipient of the Steven J. Bresky Chairman’s Club Award—Seaboard Foods’ highest sales honor—during the Annual Sales Meeting on February 5.

The Chairman’s Club Award honors the legacy of Steven J. Bresky, a visionary leader and the third generation of the Bresky family to lead Seaboard Corporation. Steve’s exceptional work ethic, commitment to quality and unwavering integrity were instrumental in transforming Seaboard into a global powerhouse.

The Chairman’s Club award is presented to a Seaboard Foods sales employee who exemplifies the highest standards of leadership, engagement, curiosity, attitude, work ethic, flexibility and results in the realm of sales. During the awards ceremony, Ellen Bresky, Seaboard Corporation chairwoman of the board, described those who have won this award as ‘Steve’s kind of people.’

McDermott is a leader that inspires just as much as she directs her team. She elevates performance, reinforces accountability and pushes every individual toward exceeding KPIs. Whether adopting new pricing tools, embracing evolving analytics, or stepping directly into unfamiliar situations, this person never runs from complexity and never settles for ‘good enough.’

Over the past year, McDermott’s region achieved extraordinary growth through expanding volume by millions of pounds and generating market-leading margins despite challenges outside of anyone’s control. Her largest accounts saw significant, measurable increases including double-digit percentage growth with key partners and substantial gains across multiple high-volume customers.

The success of those who work alongside McDermott—team members, peers, and even prior Chairman’s Club recipients—reflects the alignment, support, and shared excellence she cultivates. Her results speak for themselves, but the impact behind them speaks even louder.
